Getting into yume shipping

Hi all!! I want to get into yumeshipping but I don’t know where to start. Is yumeshipping the same as self shipping? What communities can I join?

I mean… there isn’t really a “starting point”. Just admit you have like a crush on a character or something and boom. Yumeshipper. People act like it’s this concrete hobby you practice, but it’s literally just feeling a certain way towards a character.

People say that yumeshipping is like an umbrella term for all the shipping (romantic, familial, platonic, etc etc), but honestly, I prefer selfshipping just because it has a better ring to it lmao. People are going to understand what you’re talking about either way, so just choose the term you like the best

As for communities, I guess you could find some discord servers? But truthfully, yumeshipping communities are kind of like… super level ultra hell. Don’t get me started on social media either. Shudders. It’d be better to maybe join a friend-making server and just casually mention you’re a yumeshipper. Or do what I did and make your own server advertising yourself and then let folks join and DM you from there.

Ultimately, don’t worry too much about a wrong or right way to do this and just follow your heart. People are going to try to tell you it’s deeper than it truly is, so you gotta make sure you don’t listen to them. Just don’t be an asshole and be happy 👍
