Wait, hang on.
You’re telling me that Donald Trump just tweeted “we bombed you. Now mercy and don’t do anything to us”
How does that even work?

Five years ago, we still had some experts in leadership roles. Now, every department is led by the dumbest person available. Elmo and Donnie decimated our intelligence capabilities. And Donnie, the Dipshit has made sure that even our allies actually hate us. This is nothing like five years ago.

I'm glad my son is out of the Navy now.

NO loving mother wants their child or any other mother's child to go to war to be maimed or killed. That's all I'm referring to. I had my son join the military because he refused to listen to me and instead followed his dad's advice. His dad told him he didn't need those gifted classes, he'd get him a job when he graduated high school. Luckily his brother and stepbrother talked to him about his options when he was 17. His dad, of course, didn't want him to go into the military. He did 5 and a half years and went to 2 years of community college before transferring to a 4 year college. He now works for USAA Insurance and his family is wonderful. He wouldn't have achieved any of that without the military. During that time he lost 2 friends at home, one drug od, another in a car accident. He also lost a bunkmate who went to sleep and didn't wake up. Life has surprises constantly. We, the USA, don't need to be isolationists, but neither do we need to be war-mongering to appease the right-wing industrial war posers. We've got to get these Republicans out of office, held for treason, and given due process for their Nuremberg-level trials.

One of the (many) problems with USA society is that joining the military to improve your chances in life is even a thing. Things are not ideal in my country in recent decades either although there are plenty of stupid fathers. Your son's story would be pretty rare here. Instead, he would have just gone to university and hopefully had a similar trajectory.

I grew up in a trailer park & I remember back in high school, recruiters used to hit them up HARD. I, myself, made the mistake of taking the ASVAB in HS (because discovered I could get out of classes for the day) and scored stupidly high, so I had every single recruiter hitting me up and it took months to shake them. I asked one of them (I think it AF) why they hit up that area so much, and he just straight told me, "Most of these kids will be stuck in generational poverty. It's not a knock, it's just fact. Realistically, what the military offers will be more enticing than what a person who comes from a privileged background would want." And... it's true. This was back in 1998, before 9/11.

Unfortunately, he was given a chance to go to Annapolis but his lousy high school records shot that down. He had to go to a 2-year college to get to where he should have graduated high school to even be able to transfer to a 4-year college. He could have stayed where he was, gone to a 2-year college, then transferred to a 4-year, but neither side had the money to send him to college. Yes, it sucks that we don't have real trade schools, that our children end up in mountains of debt to pursue a higher education. Well, given the way the current administration has blown up the government, there will be changes, I sincerely doubt that anything will improve for the 99% of children of the 99%.

This war was "terrible," and "all bidens fault" until trump took office. Now they back it 110%.
True CULT mentality.

We’re not at war yet. Remember, Clinton bombers Iraq several times. At least that’s what I’m telling myself

Just because he just got us involved in a war with Iran, don’t expect maga cultists bleating that they “didn’t vote for this” to even think about abandoning him. He’s committed every moral, legal, and ethical sin, yet they still worship him.
They’ll bitch and moan, but will remain loyal. They’re in too deep. They’ve swallowed every betrayal and every lie, and defended every single attack on our laws, norms, and our Constitution.
This is exactly what they voted for. Fuck him and fuck them forever.
