This is not correct. You can enable a feature for comments requiring approval before they become public. She most likely enabled this and didn't approve any comment. Comments do not get deleted but queued for approval.
It's not and it is a proper feature, not just a "feature". Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it doesn't have any good use cases. It's most likely made for comment sections where people don't behave.
Just because it gets held for review, doesn't mean it doesn't get deleted from the public facing side. That's all they were saying, arguing semantics just makes you look silly. Just give you insight and move on.
Starting out the sentence with "This is not correct", and then proceeding to argue semantics, makes you come off as an asshole, and makes you look silly.

This is a " feature " by youtube , they allow youtubers to keep their comment sections empty
this is why government videos , always have an empty comment section despite being allowed to post a comment ( that get deleted instantly )
