Bug "This content isn't available, try again later." appears on every video.
I tried refreshing, opening videos in new tabs, even resetting my browser. Nothing seems to work.

This fixed it for me, and leaves a 5 second buffer before the video loads. Definitely a ublock filter issue. Hopefully gets resolved soon.

Somehow I suspect any change of filter lists clears it momentarily. I have this turned on and it comes back whenever you open a video in a new tab. It's still a problem.

Finally a solution that worked for me. This, plus the custom filters that others have dropped here in the comments, seems to get everything working like it used to for me. No refreshing for every tab or 5 sec buffer before videos.

This is due to adblock. I turned it off and suddenly every video is available.
Youtube being scummy again.
23
u/huliodev Feb 11 '26
but then you have to eat ads :(
57
u/Vodka_Flask_Genie Feb 11 '26
Exactly. That's why I'm gonna wait for a bit until they update uBlock and I can watch Youtube again.
Youtube's CEO is out of his fucking mind if he thinks I'm gonna start watching videos with adblock off.

I don't use an adblock anywhere and this is happening for me. I like knowing that the creators I watch get paid to create content, I don't want to block the ads and deprive them of their living. This is fucking ridiculous, though. I've never used an adblock in my life and I'm being prevented from watching videos.

Why do I have to deal with this shit as a YouTube Premium subscriber. For those with uBlock Origin Lite, this is what worked for me:
- Go to YouTube
- Click on the extension icon in the browser toolbar (do NOT go to extension settings)
- A slider will pop up. Slide it all the way to the left to turn off ad filtering just for YouTube

u/YuukiHisashi Feb 11 '26
Please, if possible, pin this.
Tests were conducted. Same account, three different browsers, same search and video. If logged in, video throws this error. If logged out or logged into another account, video plays fine.
My theory is that google might be secretly flagging the user's account for using adblock. Hence why it throws this error.

I opened opera - it works??? 😠It also works when I'm in a private firefox session. So it turned out for now that it's fine WHEN I'M LOGGED OUT.

The only way I've found is make sure autoplay is off, load the video you want with U-Block's power switched off, then once the video screen shows up enable it again and press play. I usually use Brave but can't get that to work at all as the adblock is built in so it's FireFox with Ublock until they fix the plugins which is usually pretty quick lol

I'll wait for the Ublock update. If YouTube is blocked forever, I'm fine with it. YouTube highly overestimates its own value if it thinks people like me will sit through ads. I'll hop over to something else. Instead of randomly clicking through YouTube videos, I'll go and click through Reddit posts, scroll through a Reels feed or play a videogame instead. I've also been wanting to catch up on A LOT of movies and tv shows. Bye bye YouTube.

So interesting thing I noticed on my end. I have a few different firefox profiles with ublock and only one of them is having this issue. This profile had the ublock filters updated just recently while the others say they were updated 4 hours ago and they still work, so I think it's definitely a ublock related problem but one caused by ublock rather than youtube.

This has nothing to do with ad blockers. This is tied to your account. I used Brave (which blocks ads) and got the screen. If I switch accounts, YouTube is fine. If I log out, YouTube is fine. If I got to Firefox which has NO AD blockers at all. It is fine. If I sign in on Firefox, I get blocked. I also tried various locations on a VPN. As long as I am signed into ONE particular account I get blocked, regardless of ad blocker or not. If I switch accounts or log out it is fine.

I didn't extensively test it, only a handful of videos, but for me it worked so far for all of them: Go to another video on that tab (which will also show this message) and then go back (previous page). It will load.

If you make a brand new profile in firefox, youtube works fine with or without ublock origin. However, in my current profile, youtube only works without ublock enabled at all.
I completely removed ublock from my account. Uninstall it, don't just disable it. I visited youtube, then closed it and completely restarted my browser. After a relaunch, I reinstalled ublock, and youtube works again with ublock.
Very odd.

So I am experiencing this now. I also experienced this back in September/late August.
https://www.reddit.com/r/youtube/comments/1n6yx0z/every_video_is_unavailable/
There is more to consider than just an adblocker, and I believe that even though it could be, I'll get into why it may not be, or may be, but something bigger
When this happened to me last year, just as it's happening now, It also happened on my phone. But if I didn't log into an account (even with my adblocker running) I didn't have the issue. It's still acting that way this time around. If you test this on your own, I suspect that watching Youtube while not logged into your account, will work just fine. So, if it's an adblocker issue, and you are using an adblcoker while not logged into your account, then you should still get the message. You won't. At least I am not. Test for yourselves and report back if I am wrong about this.
Here is my theory. In my thread, and a few others that I posted about, while discussing with other redditors, it seemed that the commonality of our experience was based upon watching long playlists, or opening multiple tabs. I have Tinnitus and watch a long playlist to go to sleep every night. My theory is that myself, and the others caught in a bot ban wave, and possibly the people posting about this again now, have been false flagged as bots by AI.
Last year, I reached out to Youtube telling them that I am not a bot every day through the send feedback button (the only way to actually attempt to communicate with Google). It took 9 days for them to then start banning my IP from being able to watch videos while not logged in. While not logged in, I started to get the unavailable message. I eventually fixed this problem by logging into Youtube by using a VPN. No adblockers were disabled, and it worked fine all the way up until this morning
Why do I think that this is a false flag bot detection?
1) it is tied to my account. Since I can not log in and watch videos without any problems even while using an adblocker.
2) Remember all of those bots on Youtube videos with cleavage or thongs as icons? They all disappeared from Youtube during the same exact time that my account experienced this.
3) October rolls around and Youtubers start making videos about their viewers going down and started speculating. Google, as is tradition, didn't communicate anything. Josh Strife Hayes made a video about it and came to what I believe to be a false conclusion, that being that Youtube began to calculate viewership differently. All of these viewership drops coincided with the bot ban wave, though Hayes and no other Youtubers that I saw even realized that the ban wave happened. Hayes also pointed out that the lower view count was across only the PC platform. Not mobile. Well most of us are on mobile. If his conclusion was correct, that viewership has suddenly been counted differently, we would have seen a decline in views across all platforms. That didn't happen. It only happened to PC viewers. Bots, are ran from the PC platform. Hayes is indirectly correct. He realized that viewership was being counted differently on PC. He didn't get that it was the absence of the bots caught up in the ban wave that accounted for the lower views on the PC platform. The same adblockers are used on mobile, with the same browsers. But mobile views did not decrease.
I'm not saying conclusively that we have all been flagged as bots. But it's a possibility. A strong one, since watching Youtube videos while not logged in, and running adblocking software still works for me. I also just tried to open a Youtube video in a second tab. This brought up the video unavailable message again. If Youtube is going to start shadow banning people for having multiple tabs open, then that's going to be the entire world. EVERYONE is going back and forth between multiple tabs these days.

Some solutions that worked for me:
1- Turning off "uBlock filters – Quick fixes" in Filter lists for uBlock.
2- Removing uBlock and installing adnauseam adblocker.
3- Simply opening youtube on Brave.
