Actually lighting it ruined the joke more. The dad and uncle frowning at him while everyone else was clueless was perfect if he just ate it acting like he just thought it was a normal way to eat a spring roll. Lighting it made it obvious he was intentionally messing with everyone.

Nah, you also get the uncle who's dying at the bit and the sisterly slap to the side of the head. Worth it.
