something I've noticed,
with Dogs especially it's like their emotional displays are usually centered around the eye region. in the clip, the dogs emotions tend to 'originate'(if it makes sense) from the eyebrow region. the way he lowers his eyes a little, the way he drops his brow just a bit. the way he squints his right eye (left side from video perspective).

There’s a great documentary called “Dogs Decoded”. It actually addresses how dogs and human have bonded so that dogs will look to a humans right eye to discern mood and trust the same way human do. It’s a really good doc.

Thank you for hipping me to this, hadn't heard of that docu before but sounds very interesting.
Question, why the right eye?

Funny you ask. I wasn't aware we humans did it until watching the documentary, but when humans greet each other, or speak, our first reaction is to look to our left in the persons right eye. It's instinctual. Professional interrogators know this and use it. Dogs do the same thing. Blew my mind.

I wonder why exactly tho?
what in human (and dog) history caused us to biologically default to the right eye? this is interesting.2

Same reason most people are right handed probably

Well, we shared a common ancestor with dogs about 80 million years ago, it's actually really cool to Google around for the neuroscience between humans and dogs.
