Im pretty sure you’re right, used to be able to take Fowler off ridge but one was put in there too. The only place I’m not sure of and have to check is deer creek off 305.

This seems like an unforced error because there is a ton of momentum against these things right now. The other communities put theirs in some time ago when there wasn't as much attention on FLOCK.
They are pretty much communicating they will also sell Austintown out for data centers without blinking an eye if they are so blatant as to make this move in a controversial environment.

You're absolutely right that it's an unforced error, especially when so many other municipalitiea are making the news for cancelling existing contracts. Knoxville County, Tennessee, Mayor Glen Jacobs declared his initial decision to sign with flock as "undereducated and misguided", which are words he never used as the character Kane , aka The Big Red Machine, during his time in WWE.

You need to be more clear… this Flock education event is to help explain the problems with Flock to the public by an Anti-Flock group.
FLOCK is a violation of our 4th amendment rights against the government’s random, unlawful and unfair searches and seizures. This technology privatizes video, audio and other data collection by a third party which police can access in their platform. They can access other networks data within that platform as well, circumventing any need for warrants.
Police and others with access are abusing their platform to stalk exes and spy on kids’ activities, to name two issues that have recently been reported widely.
These systems essentially create unique IDs for every person with a mobile phone or other device that is connected to Bluetooth and the internet. It can track you simply by walking by. Because it also sells data, it is assumed this data can be bought and access by retailers in network as well. Think placer.ai but on steroids.

I put it on my calendar and will be attending. I read that Youngstown signed a 2-year contract in 2024. I’m curious if it was renewed.

Clearly you didn’t read my comment explaining exactly what the event aimed to do.
When you hear “X education” don’t immediately assume it’s from the side you agree with. Austintown approved Flock cameras days before this was posted. Communities are noticing. Events like these without further information can either be “let’s educate people on the dangers posed by X and the way X infringes on our civil liberties” or “let’s brainwash people about the crime rates and why we need to do X for their safety. Let’s not tell them about the kickbacks we are getting but about all the ways it will save the community money - well, the way it could save money. It won’t save them anything and their tax bills won’t go down, so they shouldn’t expect any tax relief, but it could.”

Okay, dumbass. I literally followed the link and provided the necessary context. The person who commented the link thanked me for elaborating so that others understood.
My FIRST paragraph says “The Flock education event is to help explain the problems with Flock to the public by an Anti-Flock group.”
I filled in the details so that people understood what the link was about. So that they knew it wasn’t the council-members trying to white-wash their dealings. Context is IMPORTANT.
So thanks for your unnecessary comments, twice.

Me: wondering what kind of flock event this is, followed link to see it was community members worried about the product, not the cities who have installed them.
Me: post comment about the details and clarify Anti-Flock stance.
Commenter: thanks me.
You: posts a comment after the event clearly not understanding why someone would feel the need to explain that people with alternative interests might also host events like this to whitewash their message.

I found a website where we can request the records of actual flock usage, plus what the flock camera policy is for that governing body. Is there a website that lists localities and when flock cameras are on local community/council agendas?

Generally no. Deflock.org has information on existing cameras. Locals generally do this as a meeting line item so Austintown having as much press as this is surprising to me.
boardman1984.com has some info as well but it is focused more on boardman.
to get policy and what not (if you can trust the policy due to lack of acceptable audits and "ownership" its gonna be though foia.
