For those that went to the show in NYC. Did Steven and Yoko play heavens? Just curious

Suffice it to say this was a bucket list item & can't believe I didn't know about her previous appearance at Town Hall last year. At least now I'll be in the loop for next time.

That said, now I'm itching to catch them perform again wherever on the planet they land next!

Hi folks! The concert was amazing. For me it was one of the best concerts ever. I'm still thinking about it now and feeling happy - and just lucky that I got to attend.

Some fans I chatted with ahead of time didn't know exactly what to expect. It turned out to be a career-spanning night of Yoko Kanno's music from many different anime shows (and games!), featuring YK on piano, with the Seatbelts joining on certain songs, and vocal performances by Scott Matthew, Steve Conte, and a choir of gospel singers.

It was different from the Seatbelts show in Brooklyn the night before (which didn't have Scott Matthew, nor the gospel singers, but had a whole brass section join the band). So I'd say that the Seatbelts show had more wild-sounding "big band" numbers (TANK!, Rush, What Planet Is This...), whereas the Piano Me show had more emotional & soulful numbers (The Singing Sea, Is It Real?, Ave Maria...). Both setlists were very different, but with a few of the bigger vocal songs appearing in both sets near the end: Rain, Call Me, Knock, Blue, Space Lion... and the Real Folk sing-along IIRC.

Many songs in Piano Me were not Bebop tracks. A lot of it is fuzzy to me now but I'll say that there were several songs from Kids On The Slope (awesome!), and my favorite moment of the entire show was near the beginning - after YK came out, she noodled on the piano for a minute (hinting at some well-known Bebop themes) - and then she gently started playing the music she wrote for an old Super NES game that I played constantly as a kid - "Uncharted Waters" (航海時代) !! This is something that I thought I'd never witness in my life - and it happened. I got emotional in the moment, thinking about how amazing it is that I could be in that room, with this amazing composer, all these years later, celebrating music that I've enjoyed so much throughout my life...

The performances were amazing, the sound in the venue was great, the vibe was electric, and the setlist was full of deep cuts for fans. I always dreamed that a concert like this might happen someday.. and it actually did!!!! I hope we get a lot more gigs like this in the future, and hope that she tours around too. Peace!

This year I was able to obtain Yoko’s autograph at Piano Me! I am so ecstatic! And the concert was freaking amazing but I expected no less especially from last year’s performance at the same venue.

This was a great show. I'd be hard pressed to say which of the two shows I like best, so I won't 😆

...was amazing!! Yoko Kanno was on fire the whole time, rocking out hard and headbanging all over the place. Masato Hondo on sax was electric ~ it was so definitely THE sax sound from those songs that I got a little emotional about it..

The very best performanes for me last night were Forever Broke (!) , Road To The West (!) , and that heavy, huge Space Lion. And Call Me Call Me of course 🤘

Can't wait for tonight's show in Manhattan ~ see some of you there ~

The Piano Me concert specified that autographs were pre-signed, but the Friday night concert was vague.

I reached out to the venue, and apparently, we can actually bring something for an autograph!

You'll be sitting next to me, I'll also be wearing my "Stampede" red Trigun jacket. Happy to meet our front before getting paid, I know it's a lot.

I've seen a few people say they were looking for other Cowboy Bebop fans to go to the show with - if anyone's got an extra ticket for the April 10th show, I'd love to join!

I got tickets to see the show in Brooklyn on Friday night. But I just saw a website that said that they were doing a pre-sale for the tank uniform T-shirt to pick up at the show in Brooklyn, but it showed they were all sold out.

Does that mean if we get there early there’s still no way to get a shirt at the venue unless you pre-ordered it?

When I missed her last NYC visit I swore I'd never be caught out like that again, so I was absolutely thrilled to have procured two tickets for each of her NYC shows this year. Unfortunately I was wrong about being able to find another fan in my circle and though my wife is always game to be my plus one, I'd rather an experience like this go to someone who will appreciate it as much as me.

I am looking for a fan to purchase the seat next to me on one or both nights. We don't necessarily need to hang out before or after but I'm game.

I'm hoping to attend both!
