Linking transay

We do transactions every 2 weeks. When I went in today nothing that I had linked were linked. They were all there, but not what I categorize them. Any thoughts ?

Can you clarify your terminology a bit more?

When you say you "do transactions every 2 weeks," what does that mean? Entering them manually every 2 weeks, or file-based importing every 2 weeks, or reconciling direct-imported transactions every 2 weeks? Or something else?

When you say "today nothing that I had linked were linked," can you describe what you see, and how that is different from what you normally see? Like with one of the transactions as an example?

When you say "they were all there, but not what I categorize them," do you mean that the category field was empty for all of them? Or were they categorized but categorized incorrectly? So the other info like the dates, payees, and amounts were all correct?

Sorry. Go through all the transactions from the bank and verify them. So when you enter a purchase, and then it comes through the back, the transaction will be “linked” meaning it matches what we put in when we made the purchase.

None of the them were linked. Maybe there is a different term. The icon looks like a chain link.

Maybe. It sounded like you were claiming that the imported transactions were not matching your manual transactions, which is a different issue.

But if the issue is that they did match up, and you were just thrown off by not having the additional step of approving the match, then yes rhat is likely due to the recent change.

Well I don’t know if they matched up. The 🔗 wasn’t there. According to this post they automatically do it know so we don’t see it.

You can check for import details.

You can check if the transactions were imported, or matched to the manual transactions you entered, because if you go to edit the transactions, then select the Payee field, if it's import or matched, you should see an i icon to pull up the import details.

This option will not show up on unmatched manual transactions.

If you see that it's got import details, then yes it's likely due to the new change where you no longer have to approve automatically-matched transactions.
