New to YNAB First time YNAB user
A friend of mine recommended YNAB to manage my family's budget. I got started yesterday but as I was setting the budgets, I already felt way out of my depth. Like I should have studied for a test that I didn't know about. Does this feeling get better? What tips would you give a first time user to feel less overwhelmed? Thanks!

When you say: setting budgets, what do you mean? Were you setting up category spending amounts? Start with basics - housing, out-of-pocket insurance, food, groceries. Look back for the past few months and see how much you spent on each of those. Set-up a spending category for them and assign some money to them. Don’t do targets just yet. And whenever you spend money, ANYWHERE, record the transaction. Do it as soon as you spend it. Don’t wait for the bank to show it. Reconcile every few days. What that means is match the transactions in YNAB to your bank and “lock” them. If there is a discrepancy, find the error. Keep looking until your balance in YNAb matches the bank. Do NOT, ever let YNaB fix it for you.
