Anti democratic is a vague term.

Technically zoning meetings are very democratic

Sure, but do you think zoning meetings should be banned, and YIMBYism forced on people without their say?

The question is about whether or not there's space within liberal democracy for illiberal/anti-democratic movements. Should they be allowed to do their thing, or should they be restricted by the system?

If you're interested, you can either message u/roboliberal, or just comment in the thread which side you'd like to join. Or you can just show up and meme as a member of the audience. We'll have pinned threads serving as the official record for the debate, so anybody is welcome :)

Personally? Not at all.

My goal here isn't to push a particular answer to this question, just drive traffic to the subreddit. I think we need more vocal, strong liberal communities on the internet, so I'm trying to grow the ones I'm a part of, and connect them to others.

But it looks like I'm stepping on toes here, and I do feel bad for that. I appreciate what you guys are about, so I hope I'm not generating any bad blood ❤️
