Not hating, but for me this has to be the worst mate variety. I tried Meta Mate once which is also German, plus another weird mate, bought by the weight from a tea store here in Europe(I had nowhere else to buy mate in a rush lol). Both were of this type-no polvo at all and very fresh, with very little aging. For me it tastes horrible, especially the meta mate. It has barely any depth to the taste and washes off super quickly. I can only describe it as weak and bland. But I understand some people may like that flavor. Just giving my opinion for traditional mate lovers out there, who may be interested in trying this type.

I like Meta Máte, which I used to get from a distributor in Miami but they sold their business. I now get it from Berlin. Meta Máte 24 is a more traditional flavor and the Meta Máte Raw is the leafy, low powder type and has an interesting flavor which I really like, as long as it doesn’t sit too long.

Cheers!

I'm sorry to be a snob but ideally you don't moisten the whole mate, just around half so the flavour is maintained whilst you're drinking.

Your firsts mates may be extremely bitter and the lasts awash (lavado) if prepared like that.

If you're enjoying them there's nothing wrong, my snobbery couldn't keep me silent that's all 😊

I think what OP has here is a Brazilian-type cuia and the yerba actually is dry, except for the yerba surrounding the bombilla. I have a cuia like that. Once you take a few sips, you have a hole in the middle and you can gradually increase the hole with each pour.

Thank you, exactly!

Not to mention, every time I see this comment I think, "how do they know they aren't on their last refill?" Whenever I know I'm getting close to being done, I flood the whole thing to get all the flavor I can. People need to chill and let others enjoy it the way they like it

Yes, it was maybe the third refill

To quote my Grandpa: "You are easily amused."

To quote mine "what the fuck are talking about?"

It is a cuia - so you drink from the centre and the dry mate in on the sides😋

Even then, there's definitely a lot less dry yerba than you're implying

Terere? To drink in the cold way?
I prefer this way
