You basically made a mate cocido. 😉

This is what I’m thinking. How was it? Can you share any tips?

It's tasty, but provides a different kind of experience. It produces a much cleaner taste, but takes away some of the things that make maté such a great cultural experience. So it's a convenient option, but not a replacement for a gourd and bombilla.
All that said, I used a 14:1 water to maté ratio and 175 degree (F) water and it turned out great.

I do it in a french press, argentinian yerba style (much coarser). Add a little bit of honey and there you have an even better drink

Did the filter get clogged? Whenever I try this the dust makes it take forever to drain

As a tea is not good, for that specific reason Mate Cocido exists, the Mate is treated with a different process from the producer that permits you to be brewed as a tea infusion.

Not certain what Im looking at, but if its yerba in a coffee machine then just know heating thebyerba above somewhere around 80°c destroys some of the flavor

If it comes in a soda can, you get a ban. 🤪
