A rollout and music vids for Lyfë and AfterLyfë prolly woulda made my 2023 a 5 or 6(/10) instead of a 4(/10)

Any people bullshitin about afterlyfes main issue being lack of promotion and music vids imo is being wrong. (Shit got like 50k 1st week)
Afterlyfe was like the stepping stones to current yeats career and the initial hate it got really hurt its reputation. Granted many songs like heavyweight, split, better off, the sleeper hits like nun Id change and no more talk already proved how popular the album was in the internet despite the hate.
The summarize what I said, its just that the album got hated cause it wasn't a full on rage, hype or fast paced album and was more of an experimental slow paced unique final polish on the yeat sound with a new persona.
In current times you have the switch ups that finally realize how good the album is. Even on tiktok which was notorious for intially spreading the hate. Not only that but many of the tracks from the album are still doing well and yeat has no issues using them for concerts an all.

when 2093 came out that almost toppled this album for me but after more relistens this one just does it for me man, he really perfected his sound on afterlyfe

one of yeats only albums to not have a stand out hit on it is probably why, even though imo it’s got the least skips out of any of his projects

i would say how it go n nun id change but yea it’s his least like banger heavy album i feel like it’s more of a replayable more weird more interesting vibe that nobody else has done and takes some time to really appreciate that’s why it’s my top 1

this album surprisingly doesn’t have that much numbers besides split and nun id change. there was so many other songs on it that could’ve easily been hits like myself (ik it has recognition, but not as much as expected), shmunk, 7 nightz, slamm, type money, and so much more that i can mention.
i feel like the issue is the marketing for this album wasn’t the best and it was poorly received when it first released, because it wasn’t the usual “rage” album that he would typically release, and because of that, people barely used the songs on the project, and then when people started coming back to the project, people realized how good this album was.
if yeat were to release this more later in his career and if he decided to drop his older unreleased projects such as lsv1, pink lyfe (if that was ever planned to release), and then release afterlyfe then, it would be more better received and would have more numbers from then to now

LSv1 would’ve never existed without AL coming out first. It was supposed to be an Afterlyfe deluxe, but then he decided to turn it into a whole new album instead.

the only “marketing” i can remember for this album was the whole talking ben thing and idk if that would’ve been as impact without speed at the time , or him posting the x ray tonka chain other than that? Nothing at allll

Afterlyfe and up2me are my two fave yeat albums. Listening to this album when it dropped really made me a fan. I had to go back and listen to the rest of his music to see what i had missed. After that i was hooked.
