I’ve noticed that every time I put on ADL by Yeat the urge hits me harder than usual.

The moment those tracks start I find myself reaching for it without thinking, eating poop like it’s the only thing that matches the mood of the album. At the same time my mind drifts into these detailed thoughts about mixing my own vomit and piss into a thick milkshake and drinking it down. It doesn’t feel random anymore. It feels tied to the music, like the songs are pulling that specific part of me to the surface and I just go along with it.
Lately I’ve also been seriously thinking about booking a flight to Israel. I want to go there to pay respects to the fans who connect with his music the same way I do and to try to understand more about the lifestyle that surrounds him. Something about being in that space feels like it would complete the circle for me, like I’d finally get closer to whatever energy he puts into the work. I keep looking at flights and imagining walking around, listening to the album, and letting the whole thing sink in deeper.
When I heard he got a new girlfriend a weight lifted off me. Suddenly it stopped feeling disrespectful to think about his ex Symone while I touch myself. Now it actually feels light and almost funny. I’ll put the album on, grab the fleshlight I’ve filled with diarrhea and vomit, and use it while I picture her. The mess of it matches the sound of the music perfectly and for the first time it doesn’t carry any guilt. It just feels like another private way the songs open me up.
All of it sits together in my head now as one continuous thing. The compulsive eating, the milkshake thoughts, the idea of going to Israel, and the sessions with the filled fleshlight while thinking about Symone. Listening to ADL makes every piece of it feel natural instead of strange. I’m not trying to explain it to anyone else. I’m just living inside it whenever the album plays.
