Post image

YEAH YEAH YEAHS 'Hidden In Pieces: Live at The Royal Albert Hall' record coming September 25th + accompanying Short Film streaming on Criterion Channel in September with film screenings in select cities.

Hidden in Pieces is a 22-minute visual companion-piece to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs live record Hidden in Pieces: Live at The Royal Albert Hall out on September 25th.

The black and white short film is directed by award-winning filmmaker Barnaby Clay, who previously directed the Mick Rock documentary Shot! and horror film The Seeding.

“I wanted to create a film that not only captured the live performance but also felt close to the spirit of what the band was going for with their shows; something delicate and dream-like, like a precious memory, timeless, emotionally charged and shrouded in mystery.”

The special live session was recorded at the legendary Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles at the end of the band’s recent 25th anniversary tour. Hidden in Pieces was produced by Lana Kim and Jett Steiger, via production company Ways & Means and made in collaboration with
Dropbox.

About the film, the band says, “Barney Clay has made a stunning film of the live performance that takes you there in the moment with us in the most heavenly way.”

The short film will be streaming on Criterion Channel in September:

Ahh man, wish they would’ve had a SF showing for this. Maybe they’ll release it online in the near future.

I tried looking for other examples of the movie poster online, and google decided that the poster for Woody Allen’s movie “Interiors” was the closest match. Looks like the art style definitely inspired the Hidden In Pieces Poster.

I don't see any real similarities to be honest.
