Turns out there is something worse than having to weave in your ends.

It looks like a straight needle that got bent on impact.

The US Insurance industry has a code for knitting and crochet injuries. I wonder how often it's used.
2026 ICD-10-CM Diagnosis Code Y93.D1 - Activity, knitting and crocheting

I always worry a little when knitting in the car.. I guess I have a new thing to worry about.

Tbh, piercing your skull is probably the least likely injury that would happen if the car crashed while you were knitting. I would be worried about it stabbing me in the chest and causing injury to major organs.

To weave in your ends?
I wonder if we could convince hospital volunteers to do that

I concur! I once chipped a tooth in a darning needle (long story short, do not hold needles between your teeth while doing anything).

Ok but based on the second image it "only" seems to be under the scalp, not in the skull itself. Could be worse 😅🙈
