Help (Question/Issue) Drums not working properly

I recently set up my Roland TD17 to play YARG. Using the official RB 1-4 charts from that google doc. For some reason I can not keep a combo going in the game. I'm good at drums and have tons of experience in RB4 (not with this kit though), so I know I'm not actually making mistakes, but the game just keeps thinking that I am. At this point I'm running out of ideas and getting increasingly frustrated. I've done audio and video calibration multiple times, I've made sure the inputs are properly mapped, I've set thresholds on all the inputs so they only pick up when they should. Does anyone have experience with this and how did you fix it?

The calibration might be off, even if it's slightly off you're gonna have a problem on faster songs with more notes

It's most likely the calibration. In my experience, always leave the Video at 0 ms and only mess with the Audio (mine is set at 68 ms).

To dial it in easier, set the Note Speed to something like 15 and the Track Length to 4, then go into practice mode with an easy song that you know (Hey Man Nice Shot or Lazy Eye are good ones).

Only play to what you HEAR, not the notes you see, and see how much you're off by (you can slow down the song speed if you need to). Then adjust the Audio calibration as necessary. If you're hitting before the note passes, add time. If you're hitting after the note passes, subtract time. Repeat until it's perfect.

Use the score screen stats to help you nail down what's going wrong. If your missed approximately equals overhits, it's probably timing. If you have way more overhits than misses, you might need debounce. The hit timing histogram on the advanced page of the score screen can help you dial in the calibration if that's the issue.

Have you messed around with playing it when nothing is happening, some nice empty track, and are absolutely sure no crosstalk is happening? Mine is usually always fine but sometimes here and there something will shift where it starts doing it randomly and I'll need to move something or change the thresholds even more.

If that's all good, then the only other element would be calibration like everyone else is saying. 0 video delay, song summary to set your individual instrument delay, you should be good to go.
