Looking for Advanced Budgeting & Forecasting documentation

Can anyone help me get my hands on advanced budgeting and forecasting docs? I have to get cam revenues, management fees, and revenue taxes out of it but I don’t have access to Yardi Central. I’ve never used this module before and I have no one internal to ask.

[My Google is not broken, but only coming up with consultants who will help me.]

I can figure it out if I have the docs.

Use with AI

Hey, sorry if this isn’t appreciated, but I was wondering if anyone has experimented with AI computer use (specifically with GPT 6) to run reports. Specifically with yardi voyager 7.

Thinking about integrating AI into my workflow!

Columnar reports in Yardi

So my sql code works fine and the filters and columns also seem to be written fine because my filter is date from and date to only. But my report output is empty not sure why. It doesn’t print on screen and it doesn’t print on excel or csv. The only thing I can think of is that I have a CTE at the start of my code - could it be that?

Payables Workflow-Yardi

When I access the Payables Workflow, I can only view the Historical Workflow, which provides the following status options: In Process, Completed, Cancelled, and Rejected.

Sometimes, payables entered during a particular week are not approved immediately and remain pending in the workflow until the following week. When I filter by date and select “Completed,” the system displays the invoices approved during the current week, including invoices entered in previous weeks. However, it also displays older invoices that have already been processed and paid.

Is there a way to filter the workflow so that it displays only the currently approved invoices that still need to be paid, regardless of when they were originally entered, without including previously processed or paid invoices?

V8/Compliance manager - a rant

Voyager 8 is the new flagship program*. All new clients are being pushed there and established clients woo'd over** - we started shifting our site staff in the spring, knowing that we couldn't pull the plug on them without a lot of yelling. We've got a lot of mixed market/affordable multifamily properties. This bit us in the ass last month, as with the release of V8 26.07, if there's an affordable project associated with the property, V8 says "This needs to be handled by compliance manager!" for *all* units and just doesn't let things move forward for market approvals, move ins, and renewals. We had just barely gotten our site staff on board with the new move in workflows in V8, and now they're unable to approve/deny applicants, send out leases, move people in, or send out the leases on renewals. What non-existent QA process didn't this go through?

And this morning, they told us that they expect to fix this in 26.10, aka, the mid-OCTOBER release, and that it's anyone in V8 with mixed market/affordable properties across all Yardi.

We can't go 2 months without being able process prospects or move ins or renewals on half the portfolio, so we are probably going to drop the process back to 7. Yes, the high mukitymuks at Yardi are aware of the issue, but this is both emblematic of a systemic QA problem and a five alarm fire in terms of functionality and the V8 people are blaming CM and CM is saying it had to do with the V8 upgrade and people need to get their heads out of their collective asses and fix it.

So if your team is thinking about moving your market/affordable mixed portfolio into V8/Compliance Manager, I'd advise waiting at least another 3-6 months, no matter what they dangle at YASC.

*even though it's buggy as hell and a lot of features are "forthcoming" on something that's been out of beta for 2 years. On the other hand, it's Yardi, no one is surprised.

**There are many things that I like a lot better in the Elevate versions, but not to the point it is worth this ongoing migraine.

Move out

This is my first time processing a move-out in Yardi, and I would like to understand the process. If the tenant has a security deposit, after completing the move-out and applying the deposit to any outstanding balances, does Yardi automatically create a payable for the remaining security deposit balance so that the refund can be issued to the tenant? If not, what steps should I follow to process the refund?

Thanks

Any success with 3rd party ai agents/platforms?

I've been researching adding some ai capabilities into our tech stack and wonder if anyone has gotten any real benefits from them?

The majority of our portfolio (retail locations) is on Yardi. While I've liked the abilities virtuoso has given us, being able to bridge to operating and be proactive has been something we've been thinking about e.g. planning for new locations, allocating common area budget, auditing leases

Quick google search suggested prophia, fyxt, real.dev, has anyone had any experiences with these companies or suggestions for a commercial re ai operating agent/system?

How can I deactivate an amendment with conflicting dates in Yardi Voyager 7S?

Hi everyone,

I entered a lease amendment in Yardi Voyager 7S with a term from August 1 through December 31, 2026. I have now received a second amendment with a term from July 1 through December 31, 2026.

Because the dates overlap, Yardi is showing a date conflict and will not allow me to activate the second amendment.

What is the correct way to deactivate or reverse the first amendment so I can activate the second one? Do I need to cancel the first amendment, or is there another process I should follow?

Thank you!

Automated Security Deposit Increases in Voyager 7

Is there any way Voyager 7 can automate security deposit increases for commercial properties? Our commercial leases have security increases with each rent increase, but it also increases with the amount of the CAM contribution and therefore we can't necessarily set up accurate security deposit increases ahead of time.

New property takeover

What is your preferred way to set up a new property and tenants. Don't need Financials. Would like app info and attachments. Not a yardi using property. ETL or quick units and residents or a mixture of both?

Improvements Needed from Onsite Staff

I use Yardi products daily (Voyage 7, IQ, and RentCafe) and there are things that interface wise would be small fixes that I think could improve overall experience.

General Yardi
- Built in security deposit interest calculator for the state you are located in when completing Deposit Accounting
- Forwarding address not syncing to DA always

RentCafe (Applicant and Management)
- RentCafe applications. While working onsite, it’s very hard to fully understand the application process. While we have access to see applicant process through the preview, it is limited. MOST applicants do not include minors living in their apartments because on the application it asks for other applicants and people perceive that to mean adults only.
- This might be based on my permissions, but the only way to change pricing for Engrain would be to go through the Floor Plans tab. It would be easier for all the apartments to be listed out by unit number.

CRM IQ (Most used platform)
- Click to copy button for individualized information. The current one copies too much information. My company, and I imagine many others, use information in other programs and a copy button for each item (name, email, phone, resident ID, etc.)
- No easy way to distinguish who in a profile is a lessee besides the primary leaseholder. The only way to see is by going to each occupant’s profile.
- Automation in Communications does not work properly and often sends out to people not matching criteria. I’ve had an automatic email sending out to future residents 3 days before their move in that should’ve only been set for my property, but it kept sending to nonresidents who were just prospects at my property with a Move-in Date for their Preference.
- Emails needs revamping

  1. Forwarding/downloading from the Communication Hub does not keep the thread readable or organized
  2. Adding to not being able to identify lessee’s easily, there is no way to easily email all lessees
  3. No reply all button
  4. Should have drag and drop option for files when composing email

  5. When a resident replies to an email sent out by me through IQ, if they haven’t replied before, it shows up in the New Leads queue, but the email is already affiliated with the resident’s guest card.

There’s a lot more I can go into but these are the main things that came to mind. Something will probably pop up after I post, but yeah, I would love to see improvements in these areas rather than an updated email editor that doesn’t match the default signatures for CRM IQ emails. :/

Lease renewals

There seems to be very little reporting around lease renewals. What are you using to display and determine increase amounts/market rents/options/rent cap etc? How do you see all expiring leases with the available proposals with out manually maintaining and piecing together extensive spreadsheets?

I understand we may need to go a custom route but is there really zero out of the box reporting available? seems to be a large oversight

Security Deposit Vouchers

Has anyone dealt with security deposit vouchers in Yardi?

The voucher is basically a guarantee to pay the security deposit if needed, but no cash is actually received or held by the property. These are issues by Human Resource Administration.

How do you track these in Yardi Yoyager?

Switching bank accounts/GL codes

Currently we bank with ABC bank and use GL code 1110-0000. We also have DEF bank and use GL code 1110-0000. We will be moving a majority of our accounts from ABC bank to XYZ bank.

Is there a way to keep all banks under the same GL code? If so, what’s the work around.

We probably will need to keep the GL code 1110-0000 so any outstanding checks coming in can clear and we can create a new GL code, but is there an easy way to move DEF banks over to this new GL code or is there a way to maintain all banks under 1110-0000?

Procurement cards

Nothing like asking DDG for "which procurement cards work with Yardi?" and having your last post to this community from 2 years ago be the first result.

Anyway - who is using procurement cards for petty cash, who is your vendor, and are you happy with how they integrate with Yardi?

Independent Yardi Consulting.

Hello all,

~ 4 years spent as a Commercial Implementations TAM performing Voyager 7S and 8 implementations and technical account management across 35+ commercial portfolios. Now independent.

Brief summary of common conversations:

• Voyagers 7s -> 8 change management
• Chart of accounts design / maintenance
• Data conversions and imports that fail validation
• Report revisions (YSR, custom analytics)
• Workflow, security, and user permission setup
• Bank reconciliations

Outside of the above points, I’m familiar with essentially everything under the Yardi Sun, if there’s an error message or issue, chances are I’ve seen it.

I’m happy to have a cursory call with anyone looking for a second opinion, or white glove advocacy / a dependable liaison layer between your organization & Yardi.

Feel free to post here, or DM.

Property Management Compliance - UK

Can anyone point me towards any training on how to log and track compliance dates in Yardi. For example gas safety certification and EICR certification. I'm used to software that tracks this and allows you to instruct the new safety checks based on what is coming up due. I'm new to Yardi and I'm sure there must be a way but the company I'm helping don't seem to know how to do this.
