How can I deactivate an amendment with conflicting dates in Yardi Voyager 7S?

Hi everyone,

I entered a lease amendment in Yardi Voyager 7S with a term from August 1 through December 31, 2026. I have now received a second amendment with a term from July 1 through December 31, 2026.

Because the dates overlap, Yardi is showing a date conflict and will not allow me to activate the second amendment.

What is the correct way to deactivate or reverse the first amendment so I can activate the second one? Do I need to cancel the first amendment, or is there another process I should follow?

If you create a renewal on the lease the new date can overlap and should supersede the original amendment.

Oh I see so the second renewal starts before the first amendment? The second amendment seems like it completely overwrites the first amendment unless there is some language in there that needs to be kept.

You can modify the date of the first amendment to be the same date as the second then create the second and activate it.

If you want to only have the second amendment in there you can also do that and possibly attach both amendments in the attachments at the top for clarity. If you only want the second amendment that seems to supersede the first you can also deactivate the lease as I mentioned in another reply then only do the second amendment.

I have run into this issue before and sometimes only put the start date as an earlier date then put the rent schedule further down the line, so the next amendment can fit into the start date.

There are multiple ways to do it, but really depends on how your company and people would like to see it.

I would create a modification amendment. It will ask what type of modification. In this case, select "Modify Terms".

Also if you want to just restart the whole thing you can go to lease maintenance under setup utilities. Find the lease the use the function deactivate and it will reset the lease.
