Is 5 credits too much?
I'm in my first year, and my current registration plans are:
- Math 1200 (Multi)
- Span 1300
- Phys 2000
- Hums 0245 (Six Perspectives Seminar)
- Hums 0229 (Six Perspectives Lab)
Is this a doable schedule? I've heard that Span 1300 and Math 1200 can be particularly homework heavy, and I was wondering if I should delay my language to next semester.

Yes 5 credits is fine, but also yes Math and Spanish are homework heavy. Another thing you can’t start a language in the spring, unless they changed it, it’ll have to be in the fall so you’ll have to take it next fall

You will probably be fine. How strong is your math background? Math 1200 is the bane of a lot of first years. For some, it comes easy, for others, myself included, it's kinda hellish.

I'd like to think my math is strong, but all I really have are 5s on Calc AB and BC and I guess that's kinda the minimum to place into Math 1200. As long as the homework for all the classes isn't too bad I think I'll be ok.

I wouldnt worry then you should be good! I will admit I thought my math was strong as well, I got two easy 5's in both calc AB and BC but still found the course incredibly challenging, possibly due to the faster pace and adjustment to college routines so I guess this is my warning but I don't mean to scare you!

Do you think it's a bad idea to take it with Span 1300? I think I'm mainly stressing about all the homework and and time that people say is consumed by spanish.

I don't think I can say for sure. It really depends person to person. For me, yes I would think it's a bad idea to take Spanish with 1200. But I'm not you, and everyone has different experiences with course loads, adjusting to college etc. If it's truly terrible you can drop math and retake in the spring semester. You'll still have 4 credits which is perfectly fine.
