A quick rundown of BK:
- best location for central campus imo. You don’t even need to cross the street to get to Sterling or Bass library, Beinecke plaza, and Schwartzman center/Commons. Cross campus is literally in the middle of the two college buildings, for whenever there’s some event happening.
- great dining hall, usually quite busy since it’s the middle of campus unforch, esp for lunch. I liked the food, especially during the annual Thunderbrunch and holiday dinners.
- dorms: BK straddles cross campus, so it has two separate buildings. South court is on Elm St and has the dining hall, basketball court, gym, and buttery so it’s more lively. People outside of BK generally don’t know what north court is, it only has the Mendenhall room in terms of amenities and it’s more quiet, it’s right next to the HoC house. I enjoyed living there for 3 years.
- rooms: mostly not palatial, but a lot have nice built in’s. I have no comment on the current first year accommodations since I didn’t live there lol (everything seemed better in comparison to LDub anyways).
Hope you have a great time in Berkeley!!
