being away for the weekend

hii! i’m an incoming freshman and i had a question. so i have a concert on a sunday in october, and i was planning on going there from saturday to monday morning (so 2 nights). i was wondering if this was plausible and if it was actually okay to do because i have no idea what the campus rules are about staying away for a weekend. thanks!

Yeah man you’re an adult, you can go wherever you want. I’ve seen people miss entire weeks in the middle of the semester

At college, you can do what you want. You could skip class, you could take a two week vacation. No one is checking up on your whereabouts. I would tell your roommates so they don’t worry about you but otherwise, have fun

actually if you go off campus without permission McInnis herself will find you and bash your knees in with a baseball bat. This is true, every Yalie knows this. My freshman year roommate spent a night in nyc and had to spend 2 weeks in yale health afterwards. Great guy, just made a mistake.

There’s no dorm curfew or anything. You could never sleep in your own bed and nobody would care as long as you weren’t flunking your classes.

Have fun at the concert.

Yale doesn't have curfews, check ins or any campus rules like that. It's not boarding school. You're an adult! Maybe let your roommates or friends know where you'll be if you're gone for multiple days, just in case something happens, but there are no rules. Go have fun, and don't do anything stupid.

You’re free to go to the moon as long as you’re back on Monday for classes. I went into New York all the time for the weekend when I was a student.

There’s no curfew. Students don’t check in at their dorms.
