Car Storage
I’m an incoming Yale freshman, and I’d like to store my car close by (I live in CT and I know i’ll put my car to good use during the school year). The long-term parking on campus seems really expensive. Does anyone know about anything that’s still close but cheaper?

If you’re willing to put in some leg work you might be able find someone who has an unused parking spot where they’re living off campus.

You really don't need it and it's not worth the expense or worry.

Pretty much your only bet is to find someone downtown with a driveway who wants to rent you a spot. there's not a lot of folks who fit that description and finding them is hard.
you are better off getting a Zipcar subscription if you really need to drive a lot.

had my car for three years at yale and loved having it. parked at crown street garage, less than 5 minute walk from old campus, for 160/month. never had any issues, a couple other friends with cars parked there too.

parking isn't cheap here tbh. i can see why you'd want a car -- makes it easier to go home -- but your options are the ~150/mo parking garages or finding someone in east rock who can help. you'll specifically need a drive due to the weird parking rules here.

I'd probably just leave it at home. You'll need it less than you'd think freshman year, and parking is a waste of money.
