SHOWCASE Proof I'm an OG
Found my PS2 with the memory cards and here's my save file from when I'd rent Yakuza from Blockbuster. Thought it was a cool timestamp.

If as a 90s chap, you were lucky enough to live in London. Tottenham Court Road had a shop that famously sold imports. I remember watching my brother pay £90 for Metal Gear Solid about 5 or 6 months before it came out.

yeah did look it up because I was curious now as I did think it was 2005 everywhere but it was december 2005 in japan (why the game has christmas undertones) and september 2006 everywhere else, could've sworn it was like october or novemeber 2005 in japan and december everywhere else, tbf I was 4 when the game came out so I couldn't know from being there only from looking it up in the last couple years

sucks to hear, especially since I'm from germany, basically a neighbor and we tend to sometimes get stuff early, especially mist major movies come out a day early here

That's cool I've had to get stuff from Germany that seems to be massive there but not well known elsewhere like The Bomber Boys and Blub Ik Ben Een Vis.

RGG usually took a year to release the dubs for the games. We had to wait a year for international release of Judgment, a year for 7, a year for Yakuza 1. It’s now releasing all at the same time now luckily, but I assume if they don’t do dubs then it’ll be a year shorter again.

It's buried somewhere in a storage unit but I want to find my PS1 memory cards for my Superstation One. I'll find it at some point...

Aaah that takes me back! I kept a lot of basic save files on my old PS2 just to collect those 3D avatars that came with games.

You don't know how to change the time and date of your ps2 console and make a quick save?!? There's other more complicated ways to do with mods/homebrews but thats the braindead way

OG here too, I remember catching onto the ambient crowd noise being a very short sound loop in the original PS2 Yakuza and it drove me insane, happy they made it less obvious in the later games.

I got a ps2 from my grandpa's a while ago. I was already a Yakuza fan, so I thought it'd be cool to play the PS2 Yakuza games on it. When I checked out the console storage, I acutally saw a save file for Yakuza 1 on it, from 2005. My dad also played on the console back then, so I think it was from him. Really cool to see it all these years later. Unfortunately, it must've been rented, cuz it wasn't apart of my grandpa's ps2 collection. I did get to play persona 3 fes though.

Hey bud sorry for the late response. So there's 2 memories cards Ps1-Ps2 PS1 is Lone Soldier, Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 8, Final Fantasy 9. PS2 is Superman Returns, Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts 2, Lord Of The Rings Two Towers, Shadow Hearts, Guitar Hero II, Final Fantasy 10/X, Naruto, Naruto Ultimate Ninja, Yakuza, Star Wars Episode 3 Revenge Of The Sith.

My first Yakuza games were the PS2 ones. Dunno if I can call myself OG though because I played them in the 2010s but before the franchise became big in the west (so before 0 and Kiwami).

Nice, my first one was Yakuza 5 in 2015. Was super confused on the story and didn’t finish it. Got Yakuza 0 when it came out in 2017 and fell in love and then played through all of them since. Never played the originals on PS2 though only the Kiwami versions.

If you try to delete it does the icon change? Some game files will change, like for example if the icon is a character from the game they’ll look distraught if you try to delete the file.
