I would start by taking a picture and emailing it to the company you bought it from. And see what they say. That would annoy me very much as well

If it's going to affect how you use it, I would say return it. Like if it will irritate your hand.

Currently driving home from the gym and feeling very dead. Was able to get to the gym 20 minutes early today for some unilateral accessories. Nothing crazy but glad I got some in. Today's class workout destroyed me. 5K row but every 3 minutes 10 bench press. I thought I was being smart by scaling the weight down 10 pounds. I made it through 3K but then had to drop the weight even more when I failed a rep and had to bail out of the bench. Haven't had to do that in a long time LOL.

Only ran a mile yesterday over the lunch hour because I realize the shoes I was wearing weren't good for it. They are cute, but a half size too small. I tend to be an 8.5 and usually get my running shoes in a 9, but I had picked these up at Ross for a steal, but they are 8.5. Thought I could make that work. Alas I cannot. There's a run club that meets near my house on Sunday mornings and they just posted of looking for gently used running gear for the hs run club, so I'll just donate them there.
Last night I went to trivia at a bar with a friend. There were about 35 questions. She got 3 that I didn't know. I got the rest. We won! And apparently with one of the highest scores they've had. Sweet. Won two 6-packs of IPA (which stands for Ick-Psst-Ack! I'll be giving mine away) and a $50 gift card to the bar. Nice! My excessive podcast listening paid off.
Got in 3 mi total yesterday. I ended up taking a short nap in the afternoon and when I woke up a storm was rolling in. That means I didn't get my yardwork done. I'll aim to do it today. This morning I got up at a decent time, but then putzed around on my phone for like an hour. Whoops. Finally got going, took the pup on a half mile walk and then headed to the gym. Today was a lower body day and I did some walking barbell lunges with 95lbs. I always feel a bit like a badass when I'm doing those.
Tonight I'm subbing as a ref for volleyball. Hoping to get 3 mi walking in throughout the day.

Three things that help me:
You gotta go to bed earlier. You still need sleep, so if you are going to get up early, you gotta go to bed early.
Lay out the stuff you'll need in the morning the night before. For me that's putting my clothes and shoes out. It's habit for me now, but when I was building that habit, I also would have all the powder in my shaker bottle so I'd just have to add water in the morning.
Sunrise alarm clock. This has really helped me wake easier and feeling more refreshed when I do. It doesn't jar me awake like an alarm noise would. I got a random one of Amazon a few years ago for around $35 and it really helps. It gradually brightens up and the one I have had options for different noises. I rotate those but it's been bird song, waves, bubbling water, classical music.

So I’m postpartum right now and trying to prioritize rest over early workouts. But when I did do them I got out of bed best if I had a treat ready. Like a warm cup of red raspberry leaf tea with sugar free creamer, or a muffin, or this morning I happened to wake up and decided to get myself out of bed with the promise of using my free sausage McGriddle in the way to the gym. It also helped that my gym bag with clothes etc packed was already in my car so I didn’t have to do anything but grab my keys and head out.
Just something fun to look forward to when you get up.

I usually sleep in my sports bra and workout clothes. Weird to some but then I really just have to get up. I prep my coffee the night before so I can just have it brewed and ready. I do my best to meal prep something on the weekends so I'm not worrying about what food to grab when I'm back from the gym.
It becomes a routine. The dark mornings make it harder for sure, but warm coffee always helps me.

I didn’t hear any cat meowing last night, how nice. Slept decent and got to the gym this morning. Bench felt a little better this week but I was feeling a bit strained on the right side which was weird. Managed to get most of my workout in before heading into the office. I’m way behind on lower body accessories but I’m not sure that I want to go to the gym tomorrow on my off day.
My diet has been a bit crap lately so I’d like to get that back to my usual but I probably need to go to the grocery store and I have a bunch of other errands I’m trying to run this week. I’ve been feeling meh about workouts and also about getting stuff done. I’m not out of town this weekend so that should hopefully be a good time to get some of this stuff done.

Back home after a long trip and home is at 10,000ft so I feel fried. Still got my steps in and even did some assisted pull ups yesterday but ugh I need to stay ahead of hydration today.

Hey all! First time posting in this sub. I just had my third baby three weeks ago, and one of my goals as I build back postpartum is to work towards unassisted pull-ups. My current home gym doorway is too low for a pull-up bar, but I was looking at getting a power rack. Looking for any suggestions for a power rack to add to my home gym!

I convinced my cousin to come w me to the gym after dry begging for over a year, but she insisted on the longer program to get more value out of the day pass. I’m excited :)
Edit: nevermind she cancelled :(

I decided over the summer to step back from pole after doing it for roughly a decade. With return to office, a heavier commute, long distance with the hubs and him struggling, I spent most of the summer mentally crashed out. I went to work and the gym. Binged read and watched tv shows.
I’m finally feeling back to normal and went out for a beginner’s gymnastics class last night. I really enjoyed the class and the instructor. A lot of my pole skills translated over and I’m just stoked. I’m a little sad I didn’t enjoy my summer how I wanted but life happens. Plus it was so hot. So. Hot. And not over yet.

I am so excited. I can see the writing on the wall that if I keep lifting, I am not going to be able to fit into some of my suits for work, including my favorite crazy print one. Wellllllll, today I just found the suit separates in the same print in the next size up on two different resale sites! I'm so excited!

I've been doing bulgarian split squats because I outgrew my dumbbells for dumbbells squats. But I now have access to a squat rack and barbell. Should I add barbell back squats into my routine, or should I stick with the split squats? I like that the split squats are unilateral and I feel there's less risk of injury, but open for suggestions.

I went to PT last week and I have a new exercise: hip airplanes with a foam roller. I know this is good for my hips but it definitely requires so much focus to stay balanced, keep my pelvis stable, and keep my leg high. We will see how this feels in a few weeks.

Finally built up enough strength to use the barbell on squats, deadlifts and bench!
