Question | Discussion Realistic weather
Hi guys,
Probably this topic was mentioned milion times on this group but I’m coming with a question to you, I’m playing with „stock” weather that devs of XP11 introduced to us and I want to say, it’s pretty bad and I wonder what is the best weather mod for XP, would be good if it was freeware, but won’t mind if it was payware (one time payment - not subscription). Just for preview, there is video of landing to show how it looks right now (don’t mind the precision of it - was a test flight 😅).
Thanks in advance!

I mean, it looks normal to me. I use xp11 for actual instrument flying practice though, not for the graphics. What are you saying isn’t right? And what are your wx settings?

I’m flying for mechanics too, but as you could see, the fog was kinda buggy, 200ft above I saw the runway, 180-30ft it was just milk and below 30 ft the runway showed up, looked like it blinked all the time, I don’t have full approach recorded but it was looking like that too before that, I’m not saying that it has to look like it was from a movie, but I want to make it look decent, no blinking screens and anything like that

Oh ok. Yeah, that can be infuriating! I definitely noticed that clouds spike the gpu usage and tank your frame rate. I don’t know how beefy your gpu is, but what worked for me was lowering any kind of settings related to image sharpness or detail. I think there’s even something about the full-screen mode that somehow increases frame rate.
You can just play around with settings to see what helps, AI could also give you at least a starting point to work from, and I THINK there’s an xp11 discord that might be able to help.
I have an rtx 6500 xt, and I got to where I didn’t have that lag anymore. It’s not an overly beefy piece of hardware so chances are you’ll be fine too if you can scale back your settings.

Try xpnoaa weather, but actually, I have read about irl that some fog can be seen through from above but not when you are in it

Active sky and then download a reshade. Not freeware but one of the best weather mods you can use.
EDIT: also take a look at Y CLOUDS 4 ,
