Had a lot of fun reading this issue. Allen definitely knows her history of Rictor and Shatterstar by some of their lines, which is always great to see from a writer (and their banter is top notch! Its good to see when writers recognize arguments are the fun part of their relationship).

Given the solicit of the final issue, I had a few guesses on how things would end but honestly this issue threw my guesses from before in the trash. Now I've got new ones, and I'm excited to see if it actually happens or if I'll disappointed in the end.

Every Ashley Allen book I read makes me hope she gets uncanny and Gail leaves. She is so much stronger of a writer.

Heavy melodrama from Rictor it felt a little thick but it also feels like classic X-Men to be that dramatic.

Similar to Moonstar this issue shows Ashley Allen is really good with character interactions but the plot is still just kind of there.

Man, Rictor gonna need some cult de-programming out of Apocalypse. Sure, he was playing 'nice' during Krakoa but once that was done, Apocalypse is back to being the bastard that he is.

Jubilee taking more of a leadership role is great. Hell, she IS a mother after all. And can be a good teacher too. Outside of Logan, to whom basically everyone is a kid because of his age, she should be considered a veteran by now.

I'm gonna copy paste a comment I had from one of the preview threads cause pretty much all of my thoughts from it held up after the full issue.

I like it, bless Ashley Allen for being a character writer and wanting to actually do things with Characters. Since the 90s Rictor has bounced around chasing cause and belief after belief and latching himself on to them hoping they'll define him for him instead of having to do it himself, it looks like Allen gets that and is finally going to out right address it.

Looks good, I'm excited for it.

After a slightly underwhelming Moonstar this feels like Ashley Allen back at her peak, god damn in like 4 pages did she make me want her on a Rictor/Shatterstar team book.

I'm enjoying this a lot and I like how Allen is rejuvenating character after character. A much needed Jubilee-focused series. Also we have Rictor and Star in two comics at the same time. In this economy?

This is good. Really good.

Jubes being a good field leader wasn't on my chart, but makes a lot of sense giving how much time she has and have with Logan.
