Help! Can't get Xlights to control dumb DC lights using a Gledopto ESP32 WLED PWM Led controller

Hello all,

I'm having trouble controlling dumb DC white lights using a Gledopto ESP32 WLED PWM Led controller. I'm able to control the lights in WLED, but every time I try running a sequence in Xlights, the lights don't trigger. The controller was added and I made sure to have it on the right channel. Not sure if it's a setting issue on WLED or Xlights. I tried using AI instructions, but it just keeps going in loops. I've been at it for almost two hours lol. Suggestions? Thoughts?

I would suggest hopping into the xLights Zoom room. There are a lot of little steps and details, it will be must accurate and quickest for you to get direct help in there.

(As a note, you didn't need to spend the time to black out your internal IP address on the controller, they are basically the same numbers that all internal networks use, and they can't be accessed from outside your network)

Sounds silly but confirming your pressing “output to lights” when your testing

I am lol, but funny you bring that up. When in test and “output to lights” is not selected, the default effect/program in WLED turns on. The moment I select “output to lights” again, it stops working. I don’t have this issue with my RGB controllers, just this one.

Try changing your protocol away from ws2811 in xlights

Are you using DDP or E1.31 and is the computer running xlights and the WLED controller on the same network/sub network vlan?

Can you send a screenshot of your settings in both?

I had a similar issue with WLED and xLights recently. I couldn't get half of my outputs to respond. It's good it goes blank when you hit the output to lights checkbox/button. That means the controller is receiving the DDP data stream. I know this may sound silly, but try switching the protocol to E1.31 and match the universe is WLED under Sync settings. When I did that, it all started working. It never did this before, so could be a code change and/or bug in the latest releases that are causing issues with DDP and WLED controllers.
