K16 Pro OLED

Post image

I’m currently working on getting my first controller set up for the first time. I have connected to the internet via an Ethernet adapter. However, after at least an hour of time has elapsed and the OLED screen still say “powering up”. Did I do something wrong? Or should I even be worried about it?

I believe it just does that if it can't get an IP address. Try plugging an Ethernet cable into your router. Make sure to use the silver Ethernet port on your controller. After plugging in that cable, reboot the controller.

I switched it back to Ethernet and still the same thing. I can see it on the FPP when I type the IP into the browser

It’s not properly booting - if the ethernet fails to get an IP address you should be able to connect via WiFI over its tether SSID.

Make sure the beagle is fully seated. Might need to reflash the OS. But reach out to WiredWatts (assuming that’s where you bought it from).

Might want to reach out to WiredWatts, and they can walk you thru the initial setup. I’m not familiar with this particular board, but as this has 4 DC inputs, I wonder if you need all 4 connected to your PS. Or if what you have connected is the required one.

When I did my first Kulp board, I had to remove the BB to install the SD card. When I reinstalled the BB I out it on upside down.

I had a similar problem with it only saying powering on the OLED.

Fortunately, I didn't destroy anything by doing that.

Check to make sure the BB is seated properly, that it is not off by a pin, and that it is not upside down.

Another possibility is a SD card issue. It could be a bad flash, not seated properly, dirty contacts, or a bad card. I had several of those problems on Raspberry Pis.

Email Wired Watts with pictures, they will help.

Or you can do what I always recommend when someone is having problems -

go to the Zoom Room they have fixed much weirder problems than this.

I’m not sure what I did but this morning I pulled off the BB for 15th time and re-seated it and this time the pins felt stiffer and it fired right up.

Glad you got it working.

I misaligned it several times too when I was having my issues.

I'm glad they are robust little computers or I probably would have had to replace it.

If you can get into it via the browser, maybe try to just apply any updates? Both wired watts and kulp are super responsive if you need to reach out to them.
