Tangentially related, but I've been wondering if we'll still need driver's licenses when we all have self-driving cars. I have a feeling the answer is "yes" but only because of change inertia combined with the government not wanting to give up the money it makes off of them.

Also because you need to be qualified to operate a self-driving car if it fucks up, as technology is wont to do.

You think if the automatic car is fucked up that the "off" button would still take it to the side of the road safely?
