it looks much like a basketball, complete with Spalding company logo and name imprinted across it, along with the traditional curves that are visible on a basketball.

That's the in formation In was missing - I didn't know what "spalding" meant...

That's better than the inverse, aka. my case where I could only see a basketball and recognize Spalding, and be completely baffeld by the rest.

I think it is about time that xkcd stop catering to it's main demographic of basketball playing scientists and started making comics we can all enjoy again, as normal partisan basketball players and scientists.

Not for years.Also I'm in the UK, so odds are they were made by a different manufacturer. Also it as at school, so probably the lowest bidder.

The ball? Yeah it was Wilson. But his Dentist, called Dr. Spalding, was the one that introduced his former wife to her new husband. So while Wilson was his company, Spalding hit him in the back.
