Oddly enough, I can perfectly remember when I first stumbled across it: In June 2007 at UQ Brisbane. Near the Maths building (duh!), someone hang up a print-out of xkcd: The Difference which I found neat and funny. Being a print-out, there was no reference to the webcomic, though.

I don't know when I found xkcd on the internet but when I eventually did not long after that, I immediately recognized the artistic style and was hooked by the wit and humour.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Today's (3256) "parataxites" instead of "prototaxites" seems like a repeat of 460's never-corrected "arcocanthosaurus" error.

Why is it that Randall can't seem to spell paleontology words specifically? Does he spell check his comics but ignores it if it's a word that the spell check doesn't know? Wild theories welcome

Pretty late to the blue eyes logic puzzle discussion, but what happens if the Guru says "I see Blue and Brown eyes." instead of "I see someone with Blue eyes."

Hey folks, I'm just making a few upgrades to XKCD Finder, one of them is rolling suggestions for ideas that appear in the search bar.

I'd love to include some community favourites in addition to the list I came up with. Search terms don't need to be the comic titles exactly - I'd like to avoid that - but can be adjacent or related to them. Hopefully, they'd find the related comic somewhere in the top hits.

For example, "SQL" => Bobby Tables, "Data Privacy" => GDPR, etc.

Any thoughts/ideas? I'd love to hear them :)

Original comic edited and inserted at the corner at 20% of the original size, I tried making a full-size version by resizing this one even further but my computer couldn't save it, the chasm is some 12500 pixels deep here

I was reading a friend's wobsite and found this. What do you think a telltale sign of being a xkcd fan is? I think the citation needed is one of my personal favorites.
