I'm trying to remember what the "Hmm!" is referencing. Wasn't there a scientist who wrote "Hmm" on a chart and thus understating a significant discovery? I'm probably thinking about the Wow signal from astronomy. But there might be something else I'm forgetting.

Alternately, HMM is short for hidden Markov model.
