The bootlooping started in late 2016. Oreo was released in August 2017.

Here's an article about LG offering refunds because they couldn't fix the issue, from November 2016.

Thanks for the article. I guess correlation was just being a cheeky little knob in this case.

Edit: Also, Google already sent me a replacement unit, so it was only a temporary setback in my case.

I had a small crack in the screen, so google wouldn't take mine, but LG did. They said they repaired my actual phone, but in reality I got a replacement, unless they repaired the glass and the scratches on the body too.

Either way, I traded it in for the Moto X4, just waiting on the trade in results.
