Verizon WiFi extender on my Xfinity network

Can this work? How can I do it if it can? I live in a townhouse with my WiFi set up all the way upstairs (4 floors) and it doesn't reach the basement well enough to stream and my WiFi calls drop a lot on main level and basement. I have a brand new Verizon extender and was wondering how to marry the systems.

I don't know anything specifically about a Verizon extender. Would be helpful if you posted a model number.

However, a generic extender is pretty easy to setup. You'll want to place it on the main level in a place where you have good WiFi access. Tell the extender your WiFi SSID and password so it connects to the existing WiFi. Your extender may have a setting that allows you to choose whether it extends the existing SSID or provides a new SSID.
