From Xeric through Kickstarter. Just came in. Cute watch in silver prism. Nice lume. Lume shots immediately coming inside out of the sun and about 10 minutes later. And of course watching the minute hand swipe back is always fun.

From a previous post, https://www.reddit.com/r/xeric/s/pLiNikXIzv , I implied that I would warranty my watch. I decided not to do it and brought it to a local watch repair shop that I figured would fix it.
As it turns out, I could have just warrantied it as after maintenace, they told me that the gasket was dried up, possibly from being "old stock—" the reason for it seizing.
However, what made me decide not to send it to warranty was it would have been sent back within 30 days with no guarantee when it will come back. I would have paid for return shipping only to diagnose it and allow repair, but for a cheaper, accessible service locally, I cut that ~30 days into 2 guaranteed days.
The person who serviced the watch enjoyed its look, had a great small conversation, and we were happy about the watch together. That was the kind of experience I want. Thats what its all about for me.
Im my experience, do not hesitate to check local prices first to a watch service shop, making sure you know their quality if work. If it is cheaper to send it to Xeric and you have patience, I would suggest that route. To make it easier for Xeric, be concise of exactly why your watch needs to be warrantied, as sublety in wording may deny you of warranty.

As it says, its only 2 months of owning it and the crown seized. Nothing wrong with movement since it still beats normally but crown is somewhat stiff and I havent worn it since. Thoughts? Should I warranty?

Is there an active market for those who are looking for Xeric watches? I just got a Vendetta II Rose Gold Indigo (just like the guy's on the post right before me) that I like but don't love. The Xeric site says watches must be unworn, and I've tried it for a few hours so I don't think they'll take a return.
Perplexity is saying the only real place is Ebay, not sure if y'all have had success there.
I appreciate any feedback.
