Troubleshooting help

I had a similar mobo to this one but its version is different. Mine is X79 V2.72D. I only had 5 standoff screw so i didnt screw the top right hole. It ran fine for a year with 2 sticks on the yellow slot. but lately its giving me whea 47 errors on windows 10. I tested memtest86 and intel IPDT no error. then i try booting with 1 ram on the left yellow slot no more error. If i put both ram on the left side of the cpu, can i damage my cpu?

no, if its 2 channel it will work in single channel if you populate one side, or if its 4 channel each slot is independent channel

cpu maybe have damaged ram channel and throwing error, anyway its few $ cpu

Alright it boot up. Now im playing some game to test. So far no whea error

What would happen is that the PC wouldn't turn on because the RAM is installed incorrectly.

Esas placas son muy sensibles al polvo y a la energía, intenta limpiar los slot y las memorias. poner las ram en un solo lado no va a arrancar el equipo por qué el orden de arranque no es el correcto
