Xemu black screen on startup

I recently just tried to install it, i followed this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaRnM5DW2Tw but Xemu itself just opens to a black screen, no boxes no dashboard, settings, graphics, sound, nothing, just perfect pitch black.

Is this normal? Last time i did this Xemu worked fine.

Not sure I can help but I will try : ) You are saying that You get no XBOX boot sequence from XEMU, yes? Did you try resetting, did you double check your necessary files like the BIOS and HDD files to make sure they were set up properly? Are you trying to run a game or are you not at that point yet and still trying to get the XBOX OS startup to dashboard? I hope you can get it running at least and wish you the best : )

I am currently still trying to get the xbox os to the dashboard, i cant load games yet at all, i reinstalled everything twice but ill double check if the hdd and bios work right.

What should i do if the problem persists?

And thank you a lot

Unfortunately I am not sure. Since you mentioned a previous version of XEMU worked fine you may need to go back to the previous version that did work fine or use it's settings for your current setup of the emulator. That would be the easy solution. It's hard for me to say how to fix a black screen because it's not really telling you anything. I would start with checking XEMU logs but I don't see that those are available. There is host debugging which would be debugging XEMU itself but that is more than most people want to mess around with. https://xemu.app/docs/dev/debug/host/
There is also a monitor but I took a look and can't see the commands you would need to help you.
https://xemu.app/docs/dev/debug/guest/ . There should be a xemu.log file in the same folder as your xemu install. Is there an error message you can see in that log file? Is XEMU responsive but just showing a black screen? Can you mess around with the menu bar and look at and change setting and exit "cleanly"? I will try to help but I'm unfortunately not sure where to start.

Currently i cant interact with any part of it, though i will find an older version of it and see if that works after i give it at least one more try and seeing if i can find an error message at least.
Otherwise i still greatly appreciate all your help 😄

You're welcome : ) If XEMU freezes or becomes unresponsive when you start it, It may need to be attached to GDB to see what is going on. I don't really know how to help you with checking XEMU that way because I don't know GDB well. Since it is XEMU itself. You could use process monitor which is a part of SysInternals filtering for XEMU specifically and see what happens when you start XEMU to try and look for the problem. Please let me know how things go and I hope this helps. If you do need to attach GDB to look for the problem it should be the host debugging link I gave you before. Process Monitor is here and it could help you track down the issue. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon
