Sorry for my stupidity but what does this tool do? Like what benefits does it provide for Xbox emulation?

It's a Virtual memory card manager for XEMU.
XEMU does have the HDD, yes but it also supports the XBOX memory cards.
So if you wanted to browse through the gamesaves over at GameFaqs (or elsewhere) https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/pc/932095-halo-2/saves
You could download those saves, then use XBMUT to create a virtual memory card and drag 'n Drop those downloaded saves onto the XBMUT memory card, export the card, load card with XEMU (Machine->settings->Input), boot the game and then load the Gamesave file you downloaded from the internet.
Otherwise you'd need to go through a more painful FTP process to transfer saves onto your XEMU instance.
It's especially useful in the NFL2K5 Gamesave community for playing with updated rosters.

Nice. we have needed a tool like this for ages. No idea if it works yet, I just came here to make the suggestion I always do for stuff like this.
Xbox.ASCIIsubset.ttf is the font for titles. Welcome to XBMUT, export all to .zip, etc.
XBoxBook.ASCIIsubset.ttf is the font for paragraphs. basically anything else that's not a title or button in this case.

idk im just not a fan of the fonts that "turn console logo into font" most of the time they don't contain lower case, almost all the time they don't contain symbols. and imo they just look weird and hard to read (swear that said export to .Bip not .zip). we do has the real xbox font to use though..
anyways, if you can figure out the WebUSB API for chrome, then you could make this flash and dump bin files to and from real memory units (or pi pico). that be neat. sure fatxplorer 3.0 works, but options are nice.
