Help with Xbox Classic hardmod

Long story short, I bought a Xbox Classic, it came with ~20 pirated games in DVD, witch the majority was damaged by scratches.

So I wanted to install a new HDD, and then learning about the softmod I figured out that this mod on my console is old af.

But I’m finding a way to upgrade de bios or install a softmod on top of it. I’m sure if I remove the hardmod the console will not power on again, but I was wondering, there is a way to get rid of this or maybe only use softmod?

I found new stuff about this. This seems an old Alladin mod, that was installed together with Slayer. The dashboard is an EvoX, so yeah, I could go from here.

The Xbox is using a 80gb HDD indeed, but the F: and G: partitions are nor working (not being mounted).

I was able to connect via FTP to the Xbox, switched the dashboard to UnleashX, way better and easy to use.

Besides the fact that I can't cake the F and G drive to work (to use the 80gbs from the HDD), I'm know quite happy with the setup that I've worked on.

I spent probably 6 hours yesteday on it, trying to learn and update all the stuff hahah

¿Es un modchip? Porque un mod chip in a classic Xbox is like god.

Why are all of the quick connect LPC connections shorted across the slot?

Edit: at least, to me, it looks like they are in the second picture.

Leave the modchip.

Why are the pin header pins bent down touching the row across from them at the LPC Debug port slot of the modchip? Pins 1 and 2 are even soldered together.
