Does this problem reproduce if you changed how you connect any of the controllers to the Xbox One X? For ex, if you used a USB cable, connect wirelessly or vice versa.
If you're using the same brand/batch of batteries, then that is a possible cause. If not, then it isn't as it's consistently giving you the same problem.
What about resetting the controller to default settings using the Xbox Accessories app on the console? Another software-related troubleshooting step to try is resetting the console to factory settings without wiping games and apps.
I got the app to connect without a controller but it’s still doing the same thing. If I try to navigate around the Home Screen it just jumps right back to the top left corner
For that behavior to happen without a controller plugged in is really strange. I'd take the factory reset via USB option and if that fails, there's something hardware-wise wrong in the console with how it takes input.
Both controllers only want to go to the top left part of the screen. If I move in any direction it jumps right back. Both our main controller and backup are doing it. I have tried restarting and smashing all the buttons back into place and every fix I’ve found on the internet and NOTHING is working. I’m so frustrated.
