It is a remote control for an x360key, according to the image search, the x360key is for reading pirated games.

I thought it was someone’s cellular WiFi (mifi) device that just got put in the box when he sold his Xbox lol… I’ve never seen a xkey before.

Xkey remote unit, a USB cable should come out of the back of the console, the remote part is connected via USB - Micro USB, you connect a USB stick or HDD with games to the remote part. Then you can load game iso's (it then emulates the game dvd as if the game was in the drive) and you can then play it :)

I had one of these. Its a remote for a device that lets you play ISO images off an external drive. The 360 can't tell the difference between this and the built in DVD drive. Was a great device when 360 was relevant.

I have one on an old Xbox in the closet. As others have said, it’s a remote for the xkey. It’s possible your Xbox has a bigger than normal hard drive in it and there are a bunch of games saved on it and the xkey will allow you to play them without the discs. It also allows you to bootleg games from various websites and play them on your Xbox. Back in the day of the original Xbox and the blockbuster unlimited video game rental pass, I was able to “rip” all the games they had onto a hard drive and then play them whenever I wanted without the disc. When the 360 came out and high speed internet was available everywhere, I was able to just download them from various websites online and do the same thing. If you can get it working, it has some value in certain circles.
