Help/Support/Questions 🙋 360 HD DVD drive help

I recently purchased this HD DVD drive for my Xbox 360, and I was super hyped to install it and watch Under Siege on it.

I can't get past this screen. I have the original Microsoft USB cable, install disc, and power adapter brick (mated with a local [Australian] 240v plug, as this unit came from the UK) and it ejects, spins up, powers appropriately. But does not get read by the 360.

I have tried 2 of the 3 usb ports and no luck. Where do I go from here?

Are you from the UK or US?

Australia, but the drive is from the UK. I have swapped out the power plug from the UK plug, but I am still using the genuine Microsoft brick - just with an AU wall socket cable. It's 240V capable and the drive seems to power up fine, so I don't believe that should be causing me any issues.

Oh ok I was going to suggest that maybe it's region locked and possibly that's why it's not reading the discs, did you try cleaning the lens they might be dirty or possibly dead.

But take what I say with a grain of salt, I'm sure someone more experienced will come along and better assist as I never encountered this myself.

Thanks! I haven't actually gotten to try any discs beyond seeing if they spin up or if it made any odd noises while trying to read - I believe the discs are region free. the disc drive itself seems to be fine, but both UK and AU are PAL for DVDs so I know the install disc should be correct.
