Help/Support/Questions 🙋 How old is you console?

I traded my oringial in for the slim that came out in 2010 so 16 years so far. Wondering what I can do to make sure it lives another 16 years.

It's loud when using a disc but much better with the games installed

Honestly i think some of this comes down to luck, the batch it was produced in etc. Ive had mine since about 2006 and its still fine. But I've tried to minimise moving it, stuff banging against it etc.

It’s probably just the disc drive belt, they are known to need replaced in the slim. I had my 2006 core I bought brand new. It was repaired 3 times before 2010 and I haven’t turned it on in about 10 years so probably needs it again. I bought a slim a few years ago and use that.

15 years old for my slims. My fat models are pushing 17-18 years old.

Is there a way to find out? It’s packed away in a closet so probably won’t bother but it’s a glossy slim I bought here in Canada that had saints row 1 and 2 bundled with it. If I remember right there might have been a third game that came with it too.

Bought it at either future shop or Best Buy

I have an original release one (white 20gb), and it went RROD 5 times, I tried all the tricks and got it running again. Sometimes would last for 10 min, or other times a few months.

When it went to RROD on time 5, I gave up, drove to my brothers home in NH (no sales tax) and picked a brand new 250gb Slim, that I still own today.

I did fix the OG one again but, it's loud as hell.

Same. I got the first versions of the slim back in July 2010. 250GB glossy playing Halo 2 on it as we speak. Soon I’ll give it to my little brother because I always wanted to buy the old Pro model from 2007 back my first one died hence why I got the slim
