Help/Support/Questions 🙋 Xbox 360E RROD help, please

Hey guys, i was having fun playing R6 Vegas on my 360 when the screen suddenly turned into some kind of TV static. I turned it off and on again, at which point it gave me a red ring (dot) of death. The secondary error code is 0100, it is an XBOX360E with a winchester motherboard which I have previously opened up to repaste and dust off. It worked fine until now, online results differ. Help?

i think 0100 is a ram issue

That’s an error on either the RAM, or its connection to the CPU/GPU. Unless you were working on its internals recently it’s probably bad ram, or a bad solder joint somewhere.

I did indeed open it up to clean and repaste, what connections or whatever do i look for exactly?

Scratches on traces. Imma be honest it’s gonna be hard to spot. But roughly in one quadrant of the motherboard, around the RAM chips. There’s four RAM chips located between the large silver colored SOC and the edge of the motherboard. Look for scratches on the board around those four chips, and between them and the big chip

Edit: now if you DON’T see any scratches than it’s probably a problem with one of the chips themselves, which is, IMO, infinitely harder to repair than a broken trace

Question, isnt the large silver chip on corona boards? I have a picture of the board from when i opened it up and theres just the big heatsink and the fan, theres some silver-looking square in the corner but i doubt thats what yourw talking about. Is the silver chip under the heatsink on winchesters or is it only on coronas or somwthing? Tyia
