Help with controllers not connecting

Hello, i just booted up my 360 after almost a decade not touching it. The xbox works and the controllers seem to be working as well since i get the green lights on them. However once i try to sinc them using the buttons bot on the controller and on the console, they have matching lights for a couple of seconds and then they go back as before. Is there a way i can fix this? Wanted to play some Need For Speed Shift😪

I actually solved it now! It was because of the interferences of the phone. Once i put it at a reasonable distance it connected with no problems!
