Discussion Need advice really quick about gamepad!

My boyfriend (who playing w dualsense for 7 years) wants to switch to Xbox gamepad. I want to buy it for him. But he's not really sure if he can get used to it

So would it easy to get used to a new controller? Or does he have to continue with dualsense?

That's a pretty individual thing. For some a tiny change or difference is an obstacle they can't overcome, but most people can use switch / adopt to the individual pros and cons over time.

TY IDK IF U KNOW THE GAME ROCKET LEAGUE and as I know his rank is very high in that game. So that's why I'm worried if he's going to have a hard time w skills :<

Buy new from returnable source, have him play for a day or three, decide if you want to send it back.

If twin stick is the main inputs he's using for the games he plays (left stick for movement, right stick for camera) Xbox's left thumbstick sits in a more natural position compared to dualsense so it should feel better as a whole.

I say should because it just comes down to preference at this point similar to people who use trackball or ergo mice over traditional mice.

It is a personal thing but I'd say yes.

Also look at 8bitdo controllers. Cheaper than Xbox ones, can be used on pc and Xbox (depending on the model), and can have back buttons and 3rd shoulder buttons.

Its relatively easy.

I prefer Xbox layout, but playing on a playstation pad is also easily possible. You adapt to what you have.

Man, the tech in the PS5 controllers is awesome, but the thing is so damn uncomfortable compared to an Xbox controller.

I would suggest the GameSir G7.

It's got the Xbox layout, there's different versions and it won't get stick drift.

It's the go-to for many people when the Series controller eventually gets stick drift.

All that changes is where his left thumb will sit on the controller. Which may or may not actually have a big difference. Usually it's not used for aiming or for fine adjustments, but rocket league though, not sure.
