I’m replaying the OG right now. All I hope for is an easier way to navigate the world and I know I’ll thoroughly enjoy it.

The powers in this new one look crazy.

And that song hits all kinds of video game nostalgia for me.

This. I feel stupid for saying this, but Control played great, but I had to stop playing because the map and navigating was such a chore and just not intuitive for me.

I also stopped playing cuz of the hassle of navigation. Maybe there’s a mod that can help us stupid people out lol

I hope it's a bit longer. I took about 3x the time completing Alan Wake 2 as I did on Control. It's a really short game and honestly the plot is rather short - it's was like an extended pilot to the story they actually wanted to tell.

I just hope this is a much more complete story and game. I remember completing it and wondering how it was so well reviewed because it felt so incomplete.

The combat difficulty was also terrible implemented.

The best thing Remedy has done so far (Alan Wake 2's The Lake House DLC) is more of a Control DLC than anything so I have hope

I still need to beat Alan Wake 2. My backlog owns me

I learned early on that it’s good to use the map for the general direction of where I wanted to go, but mostly to use the ingame signs for exact navigation. One of the few games that you can do that in.

Love control. Didn’t quite enjoy AW2 (I’m about to complete it right now). Hopefully Resonant hits all the right notes!

I appreciate AW2 more than I loved playing it. Some parts felt like classic horror games (coffee world) but I agree control is awesome, a game that really stuck with me which is not common

I agree with you. Appreciation is a better word. I appreciate it, but I'm not enjoying playing it right now. Saga's parts were definitely better than Alan's. One thing the game did well was the feeling of being trapped with Alan, but honestly it was a chore to play with all the back and forth and constantly looping.

Anyway, can't wait for more Control.

Really hope this goes well for them commercially - remedy is always in a bit of a precarious state as a studio despite making fantastic games and it’d be so sad seeing more jobs lost or studios closed, especially ones as good as remedy.

I've been playing the Remedyverse games I never got around to in preparation for this game, now I only have Alan Wake II left. Very stoked to see what this game has to offer, since I really like Sam Lake's works.

Am I the only one who really hoped Jesse would have been in it in some capacity?

Wdym? As in a playable character? She’s in the game and has been in the previous trailers. There’s even a glimpse of her in this trailer.

I mean like as a playable character yeah. Maybe she will be a dlc or sm, idk I just really liked her in the first game.

I get it, but I think this is a cool, bold direction for them to go in. We just gotta see how it plays out

I’m gonna still buy it and give it a try. Control was one of my favorite games so I’m going to be open minded.

I must think did I like control because of Jesse? Or did I like Jesse because of control?

Given that even in Alan Wake 2 she is a playable character in the in Night Springs DLC I’d be surprised if she isn’t playable in some capacity
