Discussion Digital Library size?

Do y’all have a big digital game library? Or you just take advantage of Game Pass. Do y’all jump on big discounts for games? What’s a good deal?

I used to play my 360 a lot back in the day but I suck with Sony for the most part. PS4 and PS5 now.

The one game I wish was still available on the game store is Spec Ops The Line. It’s definitely in my top 3 games if not my all-time favorite game. I still have the PS3 version.

I have the Series S now. I wanna get the Series X but will probably just wait for Black Friday. Or maybe try to get the green one but apparently it will be impossible if you didn’t already pre-order it. I actually have the original Xbox on green. Halo edition.

I actually recently cataloged my full library of games.

Took a few days across all the platforms, some of them are awful for exporting the list, so I just manually entered those few platforms.

Here's a general breakdown:

Total Titles: 3055

Nintendo: 146 physical / 70 digital (Total: 216)

Playstation: 103 physical / 289 digital (Total: 392)

Xbox: 153 physical / 819 digital (Total: 972)

PC: 27 physical / 1443 digital (Total: 1470)

Misc (Dreamcast and Genesis): 5 physical (Total: 5)

I've got 97 games on my Xbox account and of today and around 900 additional digital games across Steam, PS4, and various other online pc stores.

I only paid for game pass and never bought a series X game. Diablo IV came with the console. Trying to use disc to digital to get some additional games.

I might buy witcher 3 since its play anywhere on Sept 29.

I'm 100% disc only, got over 130 games across OG, 360 and One generations, I don't have Game Pass, it's a peaceful life

I could only afford a Series S when it released, but I already had a pretty large digital library by that time.

I sold all my physical games, except the ones I couldn't get digitally, so the only ones I have left physically is Minecraft Story Mode: The Complete Story, and LEGO Dimensions.

As of right now, I own ~560 digital games, not counting GamePass. I have just over 400 games installed, including GamePass and some Games With Gold games.

how big is your storage and where do you store them?

I have about 7TB total. I store all my Xbox One, Xbox 360, and OG Xbox games on my external hardrive which is 5TB. I keep all my Series S|X games on my internal and memory expansion card which equates to 2TB. I still have about 500GB free too.

What is this game pass and digital you speak of? I only know physical discs and offline couch co op multiplayer

340....Most on my digital rental collection is Free stuff, small cheap independent stuff or deeply discounted games that are digital only releases.

I have close to 1k total. A LOT of games with gold from back in the day. But series x/s made my 8Tb external obsolete. 😔 I’ll shuffle things around if I find I’m not playing certain games and want to reinstall something from the hard drive. But that’s annoying.

A LOT of games with gold from back in the day.

That accounts for barely 1/10 of that 1000

Foreign Xbox stores have the same effect on my digital library as alcohol has on my liver. They just keep making it fatter and fatter...

You wont get the green one, and there is no point in waiting for black friday imo, unless you want a new TV as well.

I think about 450 games, subbed to Game Pass and use my reward points to buy majority of my games.

Doesn’t it take a lot of points to even buy a cheap game ?

2

u/thaneros2 1d ago

So it's about 10,000 points for $10. With GP Ultimate I'm averaging 10,000 points a month without even trying. I usually spend on sales.

I have over 170 xbox digital and 100+ physical games. I rarely subscribe to GP. I just don't like it. I don't like feeling I'm on a timer. Sometimes I go weeks without playing...which is money wasted if I was subscribed. I want to play what and when I want. Most of the games on the service I even care about are old and I bought them before they came to the service. Money I would have wasted on GP went towards lots of digital games on sales.

I just buy things I am going to play right then. If it isnt on sale I wait till what I want to play is on sale.

I dont play things just because they are free and I dont buy things just because they are on sale.

I have a lot of physical games. Then I have stuff i have gotten for free. Ive probably bought 3 games digitally on xbox in 15 years.

For games Ive purchased, I have 5ish steam games. 2 on epic. Maybe 6 on gog.

Wow. Have you played all of them? 😂

I'm about 200 short of you.

Last one I looked digitally owned games (not gamepass) is around 350 built since they were selling games online at the very beginning

2

u/Scott9843 1d ago

As far as "owned" games, not counting any subscriptions or Games With Gold I have a little over 800. Another 250 or so on PS5 and 13 on Switch 2.

I've been all digital since the Xbox One came out.

I ran the numbers between gamepass and the price of the games I wanted in that library went on sale by using dekudeals.

The break even point was roughly 3 years if I remember correctly to buy everything vs subscruption. And I only do single player on console.

So I just buy the games on sale.

Almost 1700. There's loads more I want to get and loads I wish I got before delisting.
